Trees in Pods Wood - First time I have been out on my own with my new camera and not had to use flash. Plenty to learn but still I love the 3" screen.

CONSTRUCTIVE AND HELPFUL CRITICISM FOR PHOTOS, PART III
17 comments:
Ooooh, these are really beautiful! WOW! very soft and inviting. (Soft in a good way, soft lighting.)
COOL, this is EXACTLY what I mean about low contrast lighting! Its so perfect in some situations! Verses high contrast and medium contrast. It's something I need improvement on.
I love the clump of dark trees!
You would get lots of practice with low contrast lighting over here at the moment.
That clump of dark trees is to stay. The woods were once all native trees but with changes in policy over the years the Forestry Commission planted conifers. Most of the conifers are now being harvested - never to be replaced but these are kind of special - I forget exactly what they are but we are assured by our friendly Forestry Guy that they are staying put.
Our lighting is kind of dull, too. And there is no where good to walk to--can you walk there from your house? I haven't time right now to drive soemwhere good and I live int he city. But you've transformed dull lighting into lovely soft inspiring lighting, that's good. Low contrast at its best.
Glad that clump of trees is staying.
Yes, I am lucky to have a footpath - you would call it a trail I guess right beside our house which leads up past Don's field into the woods. I can walk around the first woods Coney Field Woods very quickly but I usually walk through and then cross over the Colchester Road into the bigger Pods Wood. If I walk all the way around the outside of both woods in a circle it takes 50 minutes non stop without taking pictures.
How wonderful--wish I had a walk like that near my house--and I LOEV the pictures.
i love the second picture with the group of trees. Like four friends in a forest :)

Thank you very much cws. At home in England cws stands for Co-operative Wholesale Society. I am sure that is not who I am talking to though! I guess you have only just started your blog since there are no pictures in it yet. Are you going to upload pictures to it?
Oooh, I really love the first one. There's a very soft gradient from green to brown... and the textures stand out so nicely. Very nice. :D
These are really nice, aren't they!
Thank you but tis strange you looked at them again after so long!
Whoops I thought these comments were both from Mary. Thank you Megan.
That's why I was looking at them again--Megan, I mean--and again today--they are VERY nice. (I like them!)
